As a TU Delft Student you will hopefully visit the library many times! Be prepared for your first visit by reading this blog.


TU Delft Library is the largest library of science and technology in the Netherlands, so it has a wealth of relevant literature for you to consult. We not only
have books, but also digital publications, including academic journals and reference works. And our collection continues to grow!

Searching for literature. The box at is your starting point for searching the collection.
Here you can:

  • Search by subject, title, author, ISBN etc.
  • See what literature is available digitally and where you can find paper copies
  • Reserve books that are on loan
  • Request older books and magazines from the depot, available after 30 minutes
  • Receive assistance with searching the collection from our Ask Your Library service

To gain access to all digital literature from outside the TU Campus, you can log in to the TU Delft
network via VPN (More info: or ask at the Informationdesk)


Almost everyone can use Google for searching but as a TU Delft student you will learn how to search smart! During your Information Literacy is one of the Academic Skills. The Library works together with your faculty and linked Information Literacy to your courses.
You will learn how to:

  • Make a search plan
  • Know the best way to search
  • Recognise Sientific Literature
  • Manage your found literature with handy software
  • Correctly process information avoiding plagiarism

Use your campus card to borrow books, laptop locks and use the project rooms. So don’t forget to bring your campus card when visiting the library.
